Tim and George chat to Dr Tue Johannessen, Head of Maritime Application & Viability at the new Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping, and previously CTO of Amminex Emissions Technology. Tue describes product development of a disruptive technology in the early stage of SCR for trucks and cars, promoting fuel efficient solution to a conservative automotive industry. We discuss how car manufacturers reacted to the Dieselgate scandal in 2015, and how this prompted the focus on real-driving emissions and accelerated the shift to electric vehicles. We then move to the challenge of decarbonising the shipping industry through the use of zero or low-carbon fuels such as Blue or Green ammonia using new two-stroke engines.
We are also hosting our Virtual Conference entitled 'Integer Vehicle Emissions Live - Virtual Conference (15-17 June 2021)' which will enable you to get the latest updates on the vehicles emissions market and network with market participants: https://www.argusmedia.com/en/conferences-events-listing/integer-vehicle-emissions-live
